Quantum current modeling in nano-transistors with a quantum dot
Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) serve as a new class of ‘zero dimensional’ nanomaterial’s in thecarbon class with sizes below 10 nm. As light emitting nanocrystals, QDs are assembled from semiconductormaterials, from the elements in the periodic groups of II-VI, III-V or IV-VI, mainly thanks to impacts of quantum confinement QDs have unique optical properties such as brighter, highly pho...
متن کاملFractional quantum Hall effect in an array of quantum wires.
We demonstrate the emergence of the quantum Hall (QH) hierarchy in a 2D model of coupled quantum wires in a perpendicular magnetic field. At commensurate values of the magnetic field, the system can develop instabilities to appropriate interwire electron hopping processes that drive the system into a variety of QH states. Some of the QH states are not included in the Haldane-Halperin hierarchy....
متن کاملQuantum Hall Transition in an Array of Quantum Dots
A two-dimensional array of quantum dots in a magnetic field is considered. The electrons in the quantum dots are described as unitary random matrix ensembles. The strength of the magnetic field is such that there is half a flux quantum per plaquette. This model exhibits the Integer Quantum Hall Effect. For N electronic states per quantum dot the limit N → ∞ can be solved by a saddle point integ...
متن کاملPersistent Hall Voltage and Current in the Fractional Quantum Hall Regime
The persistent Hall voltage and current in an isolated annulus in a strong perpendicular magnetic field, at filling factor ν = 1/q, and in the presence of a weak constriction is obtained as a function of temperature, and flux piercing the annulus. A thermodynamic Hall conductance is found which has a universal value even with back scattering at the constriction.
متن کاملVoltage fluctuation to current converter with Coulomb-coupled quantum dots.
We study the rectification of voltage fluctuations in a system consisting of two Coulomb-coupled quantum dots. The first quantum dot is connected to a reservoir where voltage fluctuations are supplied and the second one is attached to two separate leads via asymmetric and energy-dependent transport barriers. We observe a rectified output current through the second quantum dot depending quadrati...
